Today my focus is on teaching individuals how to become successful entrepreneurs. With more than twenty years of successful entrepreneurial experience in a various creative environments makes me uniquely qualified to teach new entrepreneurs how to develop and implement a successful business in today’s changing business climate.
Instead of me describing my past experience, let me present a few of my colleague giving their own assessment of who I am, in their own words.
“Steven was a terrific manager and brought calm and process to a large group of photographers, stylists and model bookers. He also worked closely with the computer color techs to ensure the photography quality translated to the printed piece. Steven reported to the Creative Director who reported to me. The three of us worked very closely together and I felt that we put out terrific work.”
Emily White-Keating, MBA, Senior Marketing Executive – Denver, CO
“Steve has always been ahead of the pack in technology, his learning curve way beyond the basic necessities of the digital photo studio. Web servers, remote proofing, and client digital asset management- all areas most studios would not attempt.”
Jack Strobel , Calumet Photographic Professional Solutions Group, Chicago, IL
“I have known Steven E. Keltsch for many years and was fortunate to work on mutual advertising campaigns with him when he had his own firm Saks Production, Inc., which later became Graphic Arts of Indianapolis. As a leading photographer, Steve proved what true artist he is behind the lens. His ability to capture the people and their emotions of what they invent, manufacture and bring to the marketplace is unparalleled.”
Norma Commorato, President/CEO, CMC Media Group, Indianapolis, IN
A Brief Summary of my Experience
In 1992 Leaf introduced the world’s first digital camera back, the Leaf DCB, at Photokina. That same year my company, (Saks Productions, Inc.), purchased a Leaf DCB and became one of the first fully functional commercial digital photography studios in the United States.
I merged my company with Graphic Arts Center and began developing a business plan providing web design and digital photography to press for several apparel companies such as, American Eagle Outfitters, Patagonia, For Bare Feet, Inc, Logo Athletic and Swedish Beauty.
Later as an independent contractor, I traveled to San Antonio, TX and with a team of 20 photographers and 20 data entry staff. We put H-E-B Grocery Store on the Internet. http://www.heb.com/welcome/index.jsp Today H-E-B holds the number one organic position on Google under “San Antonio Grocery Stores.”
As project manager with Elynxx Corp my primary function was implementing an internet based print procurement software for utility companies.
My position with Meier & Frank was all about apparel. I took the helm of the Fashion Studio, Room Set Design Studio and Small Product Studio, managing a staff of thirty-five employees.
Moving to Michigan, I accepted a position with Meridian Advertising whose client was Kmart and Martha Stewart Living, managing a staff of thirty-eight employees. We were responsible for completing photography for lay down apparel; room set design and small products.
Over the last three years, my center of attention is on Internet Marketing.
